The Hanover Improvement Society’s Campion Rink Moves Ahead with Phase 2 Renovations: Thanks to Loan and Community Support
The Hanover Improvement Society, owners and operators of Campion Ice Rink, is excited to share an important update with the community: a loan has been secured, allowing Phase 2 of the Renew Campion renovation project to move forward and be completed.
This milestone ensures that much-needed upgrades can continue, helping the rink remain a safe, welcoming, and functional space for local athletes, families, schools, and community groups.
While the loan makes completion possible, ongoing community fundraising will still be essential. Funds raised will help repay the loan and support the long-term sustainability of the facility. Fundraising initiatives will continue throughout the upcoming year, with opportunities for individuals, families, and local businesses to get involved.
To help cover rising operating costs and contribute to loan repayment, ice rental rates will be increasing slightly, effective in the 2026-2027 season. This decision was not made lightly, but it is a necessary step to ensure the rink can continue to operate and serve the community for years to come. To support a September 2026 opening date, we anticipate closing the rink on or around March 17, 2026, for construction to begin.
The Renew Campion Committee thanks the community for its continued support and looks forward to sharing more updates as renovations progress.
